The information has been collected from the owners running small scale agro-based units in R.S.Pura and Bari-Brahmna areas of Jammu and Samba districts. The information collected has helped clearly in identifying the role of business plan.
Data collection
The data collection is the method to collect important information to keep on record for further use, to make important decisions about different issues, and will be of vital significance for others. Primary data: The Primary data from the owners of the small scale agro-based units has been collected by survey method, using pre-tested structured schedule. Collection of data has also been done by the personal interview method of the owners so as to determine the importance of the business plan of small scale agro based units.
Secondary data: The secondary data has been collected websites, journals, newspaper articles, annual reports of small scale units, magazines, etc.
Sampling technique

Districts, blocks and then two circles were selected. Block R.S.Pura from Jammu district and Purmandal from Samba district were selected purposively as the maximum number of small scale industries are in these two areas. Then from these two blocks, R.S.Pura and Bari-Brahmna circles were selected purposively on the basis of maximum number of small agro-based units. The Second stage of sampling was simple random sampling for the selection of agro-based business units that was 25 each in Bari-Brahmna and R.S. Pura.
